Dr. Costis Prouskas

Dr. Costis Prouskas is a Psychologist with a Master’s degree (MSc) in Psychological Assessment in Organisations (Goldsmiths, London) and a doctorate (PhD) in Gerontology (King’s College London).

Dr. Prouskas has been the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aktios Elderly Care since its foundation in 2007 while from April 2023 he serves as Human Resources Manager in Alzheimer Athens. Currently, he also serves as the Chief Clinical Officer of Blocks Group.

He is the Scientific Director of the Dementia Day Centre of “Frontizo” NGO in Patras and External Supervisor of the Day Centres, Mobile Units and “Care-at-home” program of the Athens Alzheimer Association for people with dementia. Since April 2024, he has undertaken the External Supervisor role at the two Day Care Centers for Dementia run by the “ITHAKI” Association in Cyprus. Dr. Prouskas also lectures on courses related to Gerontology, Long-Term Care, and Health Psychology at public and private Higher Education Institutions across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs.

He has worked for many years in Elderly Care Units and served for 5 years as the Scientific Director of 3 Psychosocial Rehabilitation Units of the Non-profit Organization “KLIMAKA” in Corfu and Patras with full responsibility for staffing, organization and operation. He also served as the CEO of Filoktitis Rehabilitation Centre from September 2021 to October 2022.

He has also worked on several European research projects and has served as an expert for Older Women in the Program “PROGRESS for disadvantaged groups” of the Hellenic General Secretariat for Gender Equality. He has also been a member of the Working Group for the reform of the institutional framework for the provision of social protection and social welfare for elderly people of the Greek Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Social Solidarity. Since 2024, he is also a member of the Working Group for the development of the new National Action Plan for the management of Dementia-Alzheimer’s Disease at the Greek Ministry of Health.

He is the Secretary General of the Greek Care Homes Association (PEMFI), the Secretary of the Hellenic Gerontological and Geriatric Society and a Founding Member of the Athens Alzheimer Association and of 50plus Hellas.
